Tunisian Universities gathered at Paris1 Panthéon-Sorbonne for a field visit on ICTs, digital challenges and students jobs perspectives

In the framework of the SAGESSE project a field visit was organized in Paris, hosted by the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

On this occasion all the Tunisian partner universities together with the Tunisian Ministry for Higher Education and IEAQA (National Tunisian Agency on Quality Assurance and Accreditation) took part in the event.

Among the activities carried out, visits, presentation sessions and open discussion of the working groups were provided by the hosting University. In particular, there were organized some visits of the Campus Condorcet and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

During the session at the Ministry, the national information system strategy has been presented to the Tunisian counterpart paying attention to the relationship and dialogue between universities and Ministry. As far as the visit to the Campus Condorcet, it was aimed at exploring new training and research space for the digital challenges for Humanities and Social Sciences at the Campus Condorcet itself considered a pole of excellence in the field. Today, there are eleven members, following the membership of the Maison de Sciences de l'Homme Foundation, Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 University, and then Paris Nanterre University

The objective was to discover a new center of excellence in human and social sciences constituted by the meeting on the same campus in the north of Paris of several major institutions in the field (EHESS, EPHE, University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, INED, CNRS) and the place occupied by the digital dimension. The field visit at the Paris1 Panthéon Sorbonne aimed to present the concrete case of the Paris1 University on the development of the information system, how it is organised concretely at the University, which are the difficulties and problems encountered and how to solve them.

These two days saw also the contribution and sharing of the experience by the French Agency of Universities and Institutions Mutualization (AMUE) with regards the development of university IT strategy in France. The objective of the workshop was to present and debate on the functioning of this mutualization agency, and its role in the innovation, development and exchange of good practices in IS (information system); debate on ways to develop forms of mutualization between Tunisian universities in the field of IS.
Finally, the student’s life and their job perspectives have been also presented thanks to the intervention of the Observatory of Results, Professional Integration and Students of Paris 1 (ORIVE). This session focuses to present the way of the French observatory to collect information on the professional integration of students and the quality of training, in order to survey and to evaluate the quality of teaching, the job perspectives of the students during the university life but also beyond their study lifetime.

The field visit at the Paris1 Panthéon Sorbonne completed the cycle of field visits of the WP3, after the previous visits of Barcelona University and Sapienza University, aimed to improve the information system and financial management of the Tunisian universities, The results of these trainings and visits will be integrated, following a “cascade” effect in the institutions themselves through local training workshopsthat will be developed directly by the beneficiaries of the training.
